Looping
In live performance I can create songs with layers that give the sound of several musicians playing at once. First, I lay down a short rhythm track that repeats in a loop. Then, add a layer of bass... maybe third track with percussion... then play a lead or melody on top of all that. Here are some YouTube videos of songs I play live.
